The Centrality of Prayer in Christ's Church and Mission
Feb 11, 2018 • Mike Burchfield
Anyone who reads through the book of Acts will be immediately struck by the place prayer held in the life of the first church. In this sermon abut the centrality of prayer in Christ’s church, we see from the book of Acts how Christ’s movement advanced on it’s knees - that is, as they prayed fervently and with devotion. The sermon asks and answers three questions: How central was prayer in the first church? What did the first church pray about? Who taught the first disciples how to pray?. The message then moves to how Christians in the 21st century learn how to pray, before closing with practical guidelines to establish a regular prayer discipline.
