The Centrality of Christ's Mission

Feb 4, 2018    Mike Burchfield

When Jesus came to earth, He had come on a mission from His Father and that mission was central to all He did. When He eventually called His first disciples, He called them to participate in His mission and this mission was to be central to all they did. Thus, while He didn’t require them to be perfect, He did expect them to be fully surrendered, submitted, and obedient to Him and to His purposes; for in the same way He was the Father’s means for our salvation, so His disciples were to be His means to spread the good news of salvation and the kingdom of God. In this sermon, The Centrality of Christ’s Mission, these themes are illustrated and 21st century christians are called to follow Jesus after this same pattern. And because we are followers of Jesus, mission is a core value of WestHills too.
