Compassionate Care Rooted in the Gospel

At West Hills Community Church, we believe the gospel compels us to care for one another — especially in times of need. Our Benevolence Ministry exists to provide short-term financial assistance and practical help to individuals and families facing crisis, hardship, or unexpected life circumstances.

What Is Benevolence?

Benevolence is a biblical expression of mercy and compassion. In Acts 2 and Acts 4, the early church shared resources to care for those in need — not out of obligation, but from joyful generosity. At West Hills, our benevolence ministry flows from that same heart: to care for people with dignity, discernment, and love.

We offer support for needs like:

  • Temporary rent or utility assistance

  • Groceries or basic living essentials

  • Gas cards, gift cards, or transportation help

  • Referral to local services and ongoing care opportunities

Who Can Request Help?

Our benevolence funds are primarily for:

  • Members and regular attendees of West Hills Community Church

  • Individuals referred by trusted relationships in our church family

  • Occasional community needs as God provides margin

Each request is reviewed by our benevolence team or elders to ensure wise, intentional stewardship of the resources entrusted to the church.

How The Process Works

We strive to treat every request with grace, discretion, and personal care. Every dollar in our benevolence fund is given by people like you — trusting that God will use His church to meet real needs. Your generosity makes it possible for us to bless others, extend mercy, and keep people connected to biblical community during difficult seasons.
