Seeking Treasure

Nov 29, 2020    David Frederick

We live in a world of abundance, which can make it challenging to have the right relationship with things of this world like wealth. Whether you’re rich or poor you can make money and possession a “god” in our lives. Likewise, we can go back and forth between greed and feeling guilt for owning even the smallest of items. Jesus desires for his people to serve him first and foremost and not to live for the things of this world. To teach us this, Jesus will first address the desire of the human heart to seek after treasure as a good thing, given to us by God. This desire is meant to lead us to God and when we treasure him first and foremost we can rightly serve him with our wealth.
