Purposely Seeking Good - How to Live the Golden Rule

When asked to summarize the entire Law of God a Rabbi, 100 years before Jesus, said “whatever is hateful to you do not do to someone else”. The wisdom of our world would tell us to avoid doing evil. Jesus raises the bar for us though, instead of just telling us what to avoid he tells us “whatever you wish for someone to do to you do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets”. Followers of Jesus are not called to just passively avoid evil, but to purposefully seek to do good. This message will help you consider how this command summarizes the Law and the implications of what it means to live a life that purposes to love your neighbor.
