A Tale of Two Worshippers

Jul 6, 2014    Mike Burchfield

In Luke 7:36-50, Luke gives a very clear example of how Jesus was indeed a friend of tax collectors and sinners, when a sinful woman comes in to a home where Jesus is dining, wets his feet with her tears, wipers his feet with her hair and anoints his feet with expensive ointment. But beyond that, this story, if the sinful woman and Simon the Pharisee, is a tale of two worshippers - and Jesus's interaction with them both. What makes a person into a true worshipper of Jesus. This sermon provides a surprising answer to that question.
