Ruth 3: Living Into Hope

Apr 22, 2018    David Frederick

One of the dangers of intense suffering is getting stuck. Suffering will always mark us, but it is not meant to define us and become the primary way we see ourselves. What we find in the story of Ruth is God has been providentially working behind the scenes to provide for Ruth. Specifically God has brought her hope in the form of a redeemer; and now Ruth is being pushed forward by Naomi to live into the hope of what God is doing. Ruth has a choice: does she stay stuck in her mourning and grief or does she boldly step forward and seek out this redeemer? This message focuses on the Old Testament role of the redeemer, how Jesus fulfills that role and what Ruth boldly does to move out of her mourning and grief and into the hope of redemption.
