Pre-School & Kindergarten

What To Expect?

As your child “graduates” from the toddler room to PS-Kinder classes, the Children’s Ministries goal is to begin to guide children in building a firm spiritual foundation. The truth of scripture is taught from the earliest classes.
Prayer, worship in song, offering, Bible based teaching and activities to support the truth of scripture keeps children engaged and excited to learn.

We have two Pre-School Sunday school class rooms: PS 2.5 – 3 years and PS 4 – 5 years (TK) and another kindergarten class at both 9AM and 10:45 AM services.

Your child will be warmly greeted and signed into their individual classroom where a warm-up activity/game for children to complete as the class arrives. After, the class gathers for circle time to listen to the Bible story and lesson discussion. Children are then dismissed to work at tables to complete the activity based on the Bible story. The teacher and assistant will assist individual students needing support. Each lesson will have a memory scripture that the class will recite and that can be practiced at home. As the children complete their class activity, prayer and snack is given. Free activity play is given at the end of class.

General Schedule

Each service hour uses the Gospel Project Curriculum that focuses on the weekly scripture and Bible story, but the activities and teaching are different each hour to allow children to have two different lessons each Sunday, if you are a two service family.

Parents are to check in their children to their individual grade/age level classrooms. Your child will be warmly greeted and signed into their individual classroom where a warm-up activity/game for children to complete as the class arrives. All classrooms, beginning in our 2.5 PS classroom will receive instruction in a Bible based lesson, worship in song and giving, individual activities, art, drama and uses multi-sensory teaching. Snacks and free play time are also included during your child’s Sunday school class time.

Special Needs

Wellness Policy

If you have any special instructions, or would like us to know about a preference your child might have, be sure to let us know when you register. Be sure to tell us about any allergies or special needs. At West Hills, we are happy to try to assist any student needing a "buddy" to accompany them to assist in classrooms.
In order to protect the health of the children in our care, we will follow the
