Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life

Apr 1, 2018    Mike Burchfield    Easter Sunday

While Jesus walked the earth he performed many mighty works which were designed to show that He was God’s Son. The greatest of these works, second only to Jesus’ own resurrection, was the raising of a man named Lazarus from the dead, after he had been entombed for four days. This sermon from the story of the raising of Lazarus from the dead, examines the plight of Lazarus’ sisters, Mary and Martha, as well as Jesus’ promise to them, His prayer for them and the proof that, when he said he was the resurrection and the life, He has the power to make good the promise for those who believe He. The sermon concludes with five applications for 21st century christians as well as a challenge for those who are unbelieving to place their trust Christ. The sermon was given on Easter Sunday, 2018.
