Being on mission with Jesus means making disciples in our neighborhood and around the world.
God was not content to sit back and wait for us to come to him. Instead the bible testifies to a God who goes out of his way to redeem people. At the heart of God’s mission is to reconcile humanity to himself. This happens as people experience the grace and forgiveness offered in the gospel through Jesus. Because of this, we are to represent Jesus in both word and action wherever we are in this world. This means that mission is both local and global; both inside and outside the walls of the church.
In practice we serve locally inside the church through various ministries and outside the church walls in our community as representatives of Jesus. Likewise, we are to go to the ends of the earth with the gospel or support those who do. Because of this, West Hills sends out and supports missionaries in our local community and worldwide.
(Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, 2 Corinthians 5:11-12, Colossians 3:19-20)
