Loving Your Neighbor… When You Are The Problem

Jul 19, 2020    Brad Mortensen

Jesus' command that we love our neighbor (Luke 10:27) confronts us with the reality that one of the barriers to doing that is found in our own heart. It is easy to love people who are like us, but Jesus compels us to a deeper love that confronts us with our own sin and brokenness. Galatians 2:11-14 gives us a snapshot of the apostle Peter's failure to love in this way and helps us to see the same roots of sin that Peter experienced in our own hearts and lives. This message compels us to walk in God's grace in the midst of our own brokenness as we follow Jesus, pursue humility, and love others in word and deed.
