Jesus Christ: The Promised Priest

In the same way Moses the man of God predicted that God would raise up His prophet to speak to Israel, so David predicted in Psalm 110 that God would send His priest; and Jesus Christ fulfilled this prophecy. In this message, Christ Jesus is shown to be God’s priest, who was sent to represent people to God. Jesus did this by offering up Himself as a sacrifice for sin; and by reason of an endless life, He is alive today in the Father’s presence making intercession for His people. The sermon explains these truths, while showing how Jesus’ work as God’s great High Priest provides an anchor for believers as they face trials of sin, temptations of the flesh and devil, and death. Further, the believers security is established by Christ’s priesthood, and conformity to Christ is assured.
