Condemning what Condemns

The great problem facing humankind is that every man and woman descended from Adam stands condemned before God because of Adam’s sin and their own sin. The gospel shows, however, that through Jesus Christ, God condemned what condemns us, so people can live for and with God. In this message the problem of sin and it’s condemnation is explained, after which three benefits of Christs life, death and resurrection are expounded: 1) God condemned what condemns us through Jesus Christ; 2) God gives those who are in Christ a new mindset toward God by the Spirit; 3) God, by giving believers His Spirit, gives a new power over the sinful self by His Spirit. This sermon is the first in a four part series for the Easter season.
