Not to Abolish but to Fulfill

Dec 22, 2019    Mike Burchfield

The purpose of this years Advent series was to examine key sayings of Jesus in contrast to the expectations of the people of Jesus’s time. These sayings reveal the real reason why Jesus took on flesh, lived and served among us. In this final message of the Advent series we examine the expectations the Jewish leaders had of Jesus in regards to the Law of Moses and the meaning behind Jesus’s words, “I did not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill it’. The sermon interacts with how the traditions of men can be elevated to the level of Law, what the place of the Law in life is, how Jesus fulfilled the Law, and what this means for 21st century Christians and those who are not believers in Christ.
