Not Peace But a Sword

During Advent we rightly celebrate Jesus as the Prince of Peace, but what if following this Prince of Peace leads to conflict? Jesus tells us that he came not to bring peace but a sword. During this teaching, Jesus highlights that families and close relationships will divide because of our allegiance to Christ. This message explores the paradox of Jesus in how he can be the Prince of Peace but also “not come to bring peace, but a sword”, the conflict of faith and how Jesus motivates us to stay close to him when we face rejection.
