Not My Will but God’s Will

Dec 1, 2019    Mike Burchfield

As Jesus went around teaching, healing and performing various signs, crowds and individuals came to him with various expectations. Some of these expectations were realistic, while others were misplaced or misguided. To address misguided expectations Jesus would often reveal what he had NOT come to do before telling what He DID come to do. In the sermon today from John 6:35-40 we see this, as Jesus told some with misguided expectations how He came, NOT to do His own will, nor even the will of the crowds, but the will of the Father who sent Him. He then explained what the Father’s will is, so that people might fulfill it. This sermon explains these things before providing practical applications for the lives of Christians and as well as for those who are not.
