Christmas Gift Drive

Christmas Gift Drive

Giving to Others
The foundation of our faith is that our salvation is a gift from God. God generously gives of his love and forgiveness to people who have done nothing to earn or deserve it, it is simply a gift. This is grace and the more we understand the grace that God has shown us in Jesus the more  we grow in being gracious and giving to others.

During Christmas it’s easy to get wrapped up in thinking about what you’re going to get for Christmas or what you want to get your family and friends. It seems like our culture talks about giving quite a bit during the Christmas seasons, but it has taken on a selfish focus. However, this year we want to take the opportunity to push back against this temptation that most of us face and encourage each other by giving gifts to kids in need in our community.

The Christmas Gift Drive will provide gifts for kids in foster care right in our own neighborhoods. Currently we have hundreds of kids in foster care in the South County area who could use some extra love and support especially during a time of year that can be hard for a kid who has been removed from their family.

What should you do? Look over the list of suggestions and bring back a new, unwrapped gift and drop it off into one of the Christmas Gift Drive barrels any Sunday between November 13 and December 11. The gifts will then be picked up and assembled by the foster care network into gift packages for individual kids. Every gift we give will be given to a child in the Morgan Hill and Gilroy area.
